MR.KOLEKAR’S RESIDENCE AT SATARA

A project taken up as a challenge for trying to reduce the cost for a client who had a limited site and budget. The built up area is approx. 700 sqft. The requirement of a shop was also to be fulfilled in the same site. The circular forms were chosen to make the load bearing structure, which used as less steel as possible more earthquake resistant as well as to, create interesting residual spaces which even give an interesting entry to the house. The shop counter and the canopy are in ferrocement. And the R.C.C. filler slab is used here along with arches to span openings
